This was a first...

I took a few days off from work this week to hang out with Scott before he goes back to school on Monday. We had a great few days together relaxing and getting some things done that have been neglected and going to the Temple. The past couple of weeks, Scott had the opportunity to work for my Mom at her office painting for a few days, scanning charts in the evening at my work and also cleaning out a storage unit. So... we had been VERY busy lately with working...A LOT. Its tuition time so we are trying to get as ready and we can. We have been so blessed to get the opportunity to work and get prepared. After a busy couple of weeks it was nice to have a few days off and also for him so he could do some fun things before going back to school. It was a nice few days.

Because we got some Ski tickets for Christmas we are able to go skiing a lot more than we had even hoped so we were really excited to use one this Saturday. It was a hazy day but still a blast to be up at Snowbird. We skied all day but towards the end of the day...we experienced a first. It was about 3:30 and had stopped for a moment. We were about ready to head down another section of the mountain when we saw a kid break off his binding on his snowboard. He decided to try to sled down and hold his snowboard. He accidentally let go of the snowboard and almost lost it down the mountain. Just a moment later...it was flying down the mountain with out him. Scott and I couldn't believe and were laughing at how crazy it was. We kept thinking it was going to keep going all the way down but he was the luckiest kid ever and it stopped a WAYS down. Scott said to me..."maybe I should give him a ride to his board". I said.."Could you do that" to which he of course replied, "Ya Ill go ask him." Scott was off and went to asked this kid if he wanted a ride to his board. The first responce was no but Scott told him hop onand he would take him down. The kid stood on the back of Scott's skis but Scott told him to jump on his back. I was above them watching the whole thing and laughing. They soon were piggy backing down to get his board. It was truly the funniest sight. Once I met Scott down the hill a ways we just stood and laughed how how crazy it was. This kid would have had to walk the rest of the way down to the base (we were a long way from the bottom) so Scott decided to ask him he he wanted to go the rest of the way. He of course said..."the whole way, sure" One of his friends carried his board and the other carried the extra poles of the other friend. Scott stopped a few times to give his legs a rest. The ski patroll even asked if we wanted a sled to come and get him but Scott said he was ok and the guy carried on. Scott was carrying an extra 100 pounds and was feeling the burn of the intense work out he was getting. What a great guy Scott is. He is the only person I know who could do that. What a funny story it will always be and it was definately a first for us.

I of course had to get some footage...so here's a glimpse. He was a cute kid named Tyler.
We loved that he gave a thumbs up.
