Talks

Last week katie and I were asked to give talks in church. My topic was on gaining faith through Jesus Christ. I talked a little bit about faith in general in the beginning by talking about a guy that I work with, his name is Brent and hes about 38 years old. He got into a motorcycle accident when he was younger he doctors told him that he was not going to walk again. but he wanted to walk and infact hes now working on running races. His goal is to run 100 races and then go in and tell the doctor that told him he would not walk that he was right and put all his metals on his desk. Then I talked about the scripture about a man knows not the master whom he has not served. Then about the tools we can use to know the master and then gain faith through Jesus Christ.
talks are not my favorite thing. I dont really mind standing in front of people but i was worried about filling the time. A member of the bishopric told us before sacrament meeting that his youth speaker didnt show up so we had more time to speak, Yippy!

Katies and I's calling is to teach the 11-13 year olds. they are a group of talkitive kids and some of them dont alway listen. So its a challenge sometimes however, we can deal with that.
My position on the situation is, 1. be flexible with the situation let them know we want them to listen and learn.
2. but also not let them get out of hand.
