After my parents Halloween party we went home and were getting ready for bed and while I was brushing my teeth I decided to fix the squeak from our faucet from our bathroom sink at 11:30 or so at night.
I took off the handle from the faucet and loosened the screw holding the handle on, cause I thought it was on too tight and was causing the squeak.
It didnt work. so i decided to keep working on it. the next thing that was coming off was a screw ring that goes around the piece of plastic that holds on the handle. after i did that i rotated the plastic piece and water started shooting out at me.
Scott: "Oh crap,.. Katie I need your help."
Katie: "Why whats wrong."
Scott: "Nothing... You busy, I need your help, come here."
I pushed down on the plastic piece trying to play the dike boy with his finger in the dike to save the city (our apt) from flooding. the finger wasn't working, water just kept coming out, the water pressure in out apartment is high. "its too late to call a plumber; and even if we did what are we gona do till he gets here, we cant just sit on the couch with water shooting at the ceiling while he comes.
The next thing on my mind was to shut off the valve, oh yea duh why don't i just shut off the water. I took my finger off the faucet and Katie was reminded of old faithful as I tried to shut the valves off, and of course the first of 2 i turned off was the hot water and the cold water needed to be shut off.
The water got shut off and then i stood up and noticed how quiet it was in the apartment as water was dripping from the ceiling and i was soaking wet up and down my front and then Katie and i just started laughing as we stood on the soaked carpet and pulled everything soaked from under the sink.
Katie then went laughing to grab the camera. It was a fun adventure.
Our TP was soaked but thats ok its 1 ply. I don't like 1 ply, the only reason why they make 1 ply is for toilet papering, and public restrooms. Katie got it cause it was like $.33. I was really tired before this had happened, but after i wasn't so tired.
I got the sink put back together and the squeak went away. Job solved yippy!
