Sun Valley

We hit the snowy roads last Friday to make the trek to Sun Valley. Kathie and Mike were so nice to let us use their condo for a little ski get away. We were almost hit by a car that slid into a semi and then off the road but other than that the road trip was really fun.We were so grateful we made it safely. Good thing Scott is so calm, cool, and collected while driving in the snow.

A little treacherous...

Saturday morning we walked to the resort and tested out some good old Sun Valley terrain.
It ended up being a beautiful day and it was fun to experience something new. Plus, the baby can say he went skiing at Sun Valley too =)

We ate lunch in the fancy Seattle Ride Lodge at the top of the mountain and it was beautful. We were pretty sure we were the only ones in the whole lodge who brought our own lunch and the only ones on the entire mountain to bring our own water. We laughed about it but definitely enjoyed our pringles and pb & j sandwhiches. Lifestyle of the rich and famous!

If someone ever wants to jump in the picture with you, let them because you never know if it will be this guy. He is known as Captain Powder. So funny!
Only at Sun Valley can you to sit on a couch and put your feet up on an ottoman with ski boots on.

Outside Seattle Ridge Lodge.

Why the long face??

One of these things is not like the other! What is it you ask? One ski is the missing a binding. Scott was in the half pipe when he came down to land his third jump and his binding broke off. Total bummer! Good thing he has mad skills and could ski down the rest of the way on one ski. We got some funny looks as people saw Scott doing his balance act and me carrying his ski on my shoulder. Luckily it was almost the end of the day but still a total bummer for Scott. This is happens to be the second time Scott has broken a ski at Sun Valley. Maybe next time we should bring his old skis.

After Skiing we walked back to the condo and got ready for a night out. We headed to the Sun Valley lodge and take a look around. Scott and I both hadn't been there since we were little so we had fun just walking around. We went in the lodge to see the famous people pictures, check out the fancy pool, bowling alley, and ice skating rink then walked around to see some stores. It was so fun to just hang out.

Can you see the swans? They are blending in but they were so content just hanging out in front of the heated pond.

The ice skating rink.
The sun of Sun Valley.

Oh Ya!
We finished off the day with some yummy pizza, treats and watched a movie. It was a great trip!
