Easter

Easter weekend is always such a wonderful time of year. This it was particularly special to have General Conference and Easter on the same day! I was really looking forward to hearing from the prophet and the leaders of the church and it turned out to be everything I expected and more. I felt a new strength to move forward and press on with faith and hope in the Savior. I'm grateful that the importance of being good Husbands, Wives, Mothers and Fathers was really emphasized and praised. We need to be reminded that it is a blessing to be who we are. We all are children of God and need to stand up for true love in marriage, morality, and protect divine womanhood.

Around Easter, there is a special feeling in the air. Its nice to have Christ spoken of and rejoiced. It truly is a miracle that he rose again and lives today! He is the Savior and Redeemer and I know he will come again. I feel strengthened by the testimonies we heard this weekend in conference and I hope we all will always remember the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us!

There were of course some fun family Easter parties. Every year during the Priesthood session my Mom and my sisters have a girls night and party for the kids. This year everyone went swimming and my parents club house, had an Easter egg hunt, ate lots of yummy food and enjoyed talking and laughing together. I must say, my Mom is quite the swimmer and made it so fun for everyone! I just love my Mom and my sisters. They are so fun and such great examples and I love to hang out with them. We missed you Kathie and Heather! =(

We definitely had our Easter/Conference Feast Sunday morning. Scott and I have combined both of our family traditions for Conference morning and this is the result: home made Belgian waffles, real whipped cream and strawberries, sausage-egg-cheese muffins, and Juice. Yep-we were very full but it sure was fun.
The Easter bunnie visited us and brought so many yummy treats!
Easter dinner was with the Hanks side of the family. We enjoyed tons of delicious dinner, an Easter egg hunt(we missed it because we were late-oops), played games and had a good time with each other. It was a wonderful weekend full of family, great messages and a lot of fun!
