The Pink Huffy Bike

l
Any one who knows me would say I am one very sentimental girl. However- this is not the same as being a pack rat because that I am not. I have certain momentous from different stages of my life that I love to keep and reminisce about. I only keep the things that I really remember and love and will enjoy having to show our kids. One of the many things I have kept over the years is my pink Huffy bike. I absolutely adored this bike. My best friend Rachel and I would play "bikes" almost daily while we were growing up. My garage had the vacuum in it that was the gas station. The Bradshaw's house was the bank because they had a key pad on their garage. The Mono's had the raspberry bushes that we could eat off of so they obviously became the grocery store. We would often stop by Linda Hancey's beauty salon to say "hi". The real reason was she gave us treats when we went by so we made that regular occurrence. Our street was lined with opportunities and many wonderful memories. I will never forget the hours and hours we spent on our bikes riding up and down Snowville Drive. Those were the days!! I think the time has come to say goodbye to my pink Huffy bike. I am now 23 years old and it still sits in my parents garage holding on to those dear memories. It has had many flat tires, several new wheels, the seat raised as I grew and even got ran over by the lady in the neighborhood. To say the least, I was devastated when that happened...but it was straightened out by my fix it Dad. After all these years and several moves, I think its a good thing to say goodbye to the pink Huffy bike! =)

I think it is time to get rid of the bike, Kate. I loved reading your entry about it though. What fun memories! You were (and are) so cute!
