Last week Scott got to enjoy a wonderful week off from school. I was so excited for him to get some well deserved time off from his hard work. He constantly amazes me with how hard he works and how well he does in pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree. He is so great!! Scott and I drive to school and work together everyday so I really missed him making me laugh in the mornings. I was able to take off Thursday and Friday from work to go hang out with him. He had started a project on his truck and had spent some quality time in his parents garage. His first priject however was fixing my broken dresser drawer. He relaced the broken wood and made them slide so well and actually stay in the dresser. It was a wonderful suprise. Thanks Scott! He loves working on his truck and doing projects to make things better. (I tell people our apartment is in better shape now then when we got there. He makes everything work better) decided he wanted to strip of all the paint on the metal that covers the gas tank on the Tacoma "taco". It had been chipped and rusted some from being under the truck so he wanted it to look nice again. He ended up having to paint strip, sand, and take his dremmel to those rust spots. It turned into a longer project that he had planned with lots of trips to home depot to return products and try something new, but the whole process is fun for him. I was so excited to join him on Thursday and Friday. We spent a lot of time in the garage and I helped with the sanding. It was great to be together. Usually in the evening we would watch a movie and Thursdays we of course catch our TV line up of Community and the Office. (Community is WAY better than the office these days) It was great to not worry about getting to work and school the next day and just be together. In fact, it was hard to remember what day it actually was. We even got to run errands and get things done we needed too. How wonderful to have time during the week. Wow!
Friday we were able to go to the Draper Temple and it was so great to go! What a wonderful place of peace, happiness and beauty. We continued the same pattern that afternoon on the taco until the Barson Family Halloween party that night. My Mom always puts so much effort into these cute parties with games for the kids, treats, and yummy dinner and they always turn out great. This time we did it at their clubhouse so we all went swimming after and it was a blast! Saturday we had the Hanks Family pictures in the morning and that afternoon we finished the painting. Scott made it look so nice. Its great he takes such good care of the "taco" because we will drive it forever. The goal is to someday make it into a wheelin machine with a solid axle =)
It was a truly great week and weekend. Its so nice to not be in a hurry to get anywhere and just be together. We even got some naps in. What a miracle. There is no one else I would rather be with than my sweet husband. I love you Scott and I am so proud of all you do. I'm positive I got the best man! Thanks for a great Fall Break!
